Program Overview:

The joint providership of Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower and Focus Medical Communications, in collaboration with the Colorado Obesity Society, presents the Colorado Obesity Society One-Day Summit. This educational activity will construct comprehensive, individualized obesity management plans that integrate lifestyle interventions (nutrition and movement), evidence-based pharmacotherapy, and post-surgical long-term care for both adult and pediatric patient populations.

Target Audience:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of individuals involved in the management of patients with obesity and metabolic/liver disease, including gastroenterologists and hepatologists.

Educational Objectives:

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

Construct comprehensive, individualized obesity management plans that integrate lifestyle interventions (nutrition and movement), evidence-based pharmacotherapy, and post-surgical long-term care for both adult and pediatric patient populations.
Critique the multisystemic impact of obesity as a chronic disease.
Analyze the impact of weight bias and stigma within the current healthcare culture to implement more empathetic, evidence-based communication strategies.
